Eric Simmons, DPM

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Eric Simmons to our team at Piedmont Foot & Ankle Specialists, starting April 28, 2025. Dr. Simmons is a Board Certified podiatrist with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for his patients through exceptional podiatric care.

Education and Affiliations

Dr. Simmons completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Simmons is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), North Carolina Foot & Ankle Society (NCFAS), American College of Podiatric Medicine (ACPM), American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS), and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM).

Professional Passion

Dr. Simmons chose the field of podiatry due to the crucial role that feet play in everyday life, recognizing that most people neglect their feet until problems arise. He finds it rewarding to see patients leave the office with a smile after they walked in with pain. Dr. Simmons has a special interest in treating conditions that can often be resolved in a single visit, such as ingrown toenails, warts, and plantar fasciitis, allowing patients to return quickly to their daily activities without discomfort.

Personal Life

Originally from Granite Falls, NC, Dr. Simmons currently resides in Cary, NC. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys staying active with workouts, engaging in various outdoor activities, and cheering for UNC athletics. A fun fact about Dr. Simmons is his year of service with Americorps in Denver, Colorado, where he dedicated himself to community work and development.
